Everyone has ‘the answer’ for finding an acne
remedy that works. But do they really work? And is there really
only one acne remedy?
After dealing with acne professionally and personally and
in my own family, you come to realize that there is no such
thing as a ‘one size fits all’ remedy. But there
are tried and true rules that help alleviate it, control it
and hopefully stay acne free forever.
It’s almost ridiculous that I would have to add this,
but I won’t take it for granted that everyone is aware
of this, but cleanliness is one way of keeping your skin bacteria-free.
So when looking for that perfect acne remedy, don’t
forget these important tips:
1. Wash your sheets, especially your pillow case very frequently.
2. Wash your skin gently with an acne or anti-bacterial soap
or product at least 2x’s a day. Soaps with aloe vera
love your skin.
3. Use products which contain benzoyl peroxide.
4. Make sure you use gentle, hypoallergenic makeup.
5. Do not rub your face with your hands. They contain many
oils and usually a lot of bacteria. Use anti-bacterial washes
on your hands and wash them frequently.
6. Take a steam shower or just sit in the bathroom at let
the hot water in the shower run. The steam does wonders in
opening up your pores.
Finding an acne remedy that works also has to do with what
we consume in our bodies. Many women use birth control pills
and probably don’t realize that it could be causing
acne. Contact your doctor and ask them about the one you’re
on. They may just change your pill to one that is not known
to cause skin eruptions.
If you have acne necrotica miliaris or scalp acne, you should
look for a shampoo acne remedy which contains benzoyl peroxide.
If the acne causes your scalp to itch then use a product which
contains cortisone or a coal-tar shampoo.
Some doctors recommend using long term antibiotics for severe
acne. Although this is not considered an acne remedy, it has
worked for some individuals. The only problem with this is
that using antibiotics long term may adversely affect other
areas of your body as well as seeing an occurrence of the
acne after they are no longer being used.
Although the following is not an acne remedy per se, if you
follow the diet suggestions below, you will have great acne
control. If you do this faithfully, it may never reappear
at all. Some of the diet suggestions to help clear up your
condition are:
1. Eliminate sugars. And do not substitute with artificial
sweeteners. They also cause acne. Use honey, stevia or agave
nectar.
2. Don’t eat junk food! Why do you think it’s
called that! Substitute instead with lots of fruit and vegetables
and high fiber foods such as bran, breads, cereals, etc.
3. Avoid chocolate.
4. Avoid caffeinated drinks.
5. Do not drink milk. It aggravates acne.
6. Avoid soft drinks. They all contain huge amounts of sugar
or artificial sweeteners.
Lastly, when looking for an acne remedyt, look no further
than the vitamin counter at your local health food store.
There are many supplements which are excellent in helping
alleviate and control acne. Vitamin A, E, Selenium, Chromium,
Vitamin B6, B Complex and Zinc. What probably is the best
acne product is an all natural, real food, non-synthetic Multi
Vitamin. We highly recommend any of the Garden of Life Products.
They have Multi Vitamins that are especially formulated for
both men and women.
